GREYSON POLOS

“Greyson is not a quiet presence in the sport. The elevated designs, color combinations, and tailored styling take golf apparel to the next level. The use of color, in the subtlest of ways is a powerful force that is digestible fashion."

HOW TO SPOT A GREYSON POLO?

Check the placket first. The Greyson contrast color placket has a subtle yet very identifiable presence both on and off course. Add to the mix a tailored 4 button placket, cutaway collar, and higher quality production, Greyson polos stand above all others in the field.

THE IMPORTANCE OF THE PLACKET

Definition: an opening or slit in a garment, covering fastenings or giving access to a pocket, or the flap of fabric under such as an opening.

ELEGANCE IN COLOR

Greyson set out to make the world’s finest golf apparel. In 2016, when the first delivery launched, it was crucial that the golf industry receive a perspective that was new. The quest to deliver a superior product with an updated men's tailored style was nailed all while respecting the classical rules of the golf dress code. Charlie Schaefer, the creative genius of the brand, was in love with color.

The colors in our environment, in the vibrancy of nature, all influenced Charlie to design a collection that breathed color. His pedigree in designing men's tailored clothing was finally able to come together as one, as he designed his collection with tailored nuances like cutaway collars and English plackets, generally reserved for more formal attire.

Each season’s collections feature no lack of color. However, how the color is infused is key, and how those pops are then used to determine the rest of the outfit are equally important.

ENGLISH PLACKET

The extra step of designing a 4 button English placket is no easy feat, especially on a polyamide/nylon blended technical fabric. Crafted hastily, and the result is a sloppy situation. Mindfully sewn, however, and the polo automatically becomes an elevated version of the previous generation’s polos. Up your overall look by embracing the fact that Greyson has done a lot of the work to make your outfit that much more sophisticated.

CUTAWAY COLLAR

A refined elegance resides in the severity of a cutaway collar. Originally designed for mens dress shirts in the 1930’s, the intention was to create the appropriate space for beautifully executed Windsor tie knots. Not many people are wearing ties on the golf course today, and ties in general are reserved for a proper dress shirt, but the sartorial style is bold and modern, rarely seen on a polo, but very identifiable on a Greyson polo.

CONTRAST PLACKET

Optimizing every opportunity to tell a story on color and the beautiful ways colors work together to tell a story is how Greyson is designed. Whether the placket grounds a bold print or solid, or it brings out the undertones in a muted striped pairing, that placket plays a terrific role in inspiring how to incorporate color into your daily look. It’s subtle, but at the same time visible and very unique.
